Dominican Republic:
Treat yourself to Caribbean sunshine with a Latin-America flavour. Glorious tropical
weather, all-inclusive beach resorts, palm-fringed sands and turquoise seas
- just a few reasons why the Dominican Republic is a firm favourite. The Dominican
Republic is a haven of soft sands and sunshine with a northern coast that looks
out across the Atlantic and southern eastern shores lapped by the Caribbean
Sea. With two coastlines of equal appeal you'll be spoilt for choice when it
comes to relaxing on a sunlounger and catching a tan. For action away from
the sands you can visit the Indian caves of Los Haitises, go white water rafting
or horse riding through the countryside. And remember to enjoy local life as
you move to the merengue with a rum cocktail to hand.
Jamaica:
Thoughts of Jamaica ooze with rum and spice, and make you want to move to a reggae
rhythm. Slow down and relax on a laid back island of white sand beaches, tropical
palms and sparkling waterfalls.Kick back on Negril's white sands then watch
the sun set in stunning fashion. Eat jerk chicken from a beachfront restaurant
and sip local rum before dancing to live reggae into the night. One day, swim
with dolphins at Dolphin Cove or climb through cascading waters at Dunn's River
falls. The next, take a bus ride through the Blue Mountains and cruise the
Martha Brae River on a bamboo raft. And that's not all. City sights can be
seen in the island's capital, Kingston.
Barbados:
The easternmost Caribbean Island has the advantage of being
just outside of hurricane range, for the most part. Decidedly British
and sophisticated, Barbados is a beautiful island, surrounded by
white sandy beaches and azure water. With good airline services,
a wide range of accommodations and many restaurants, Barbados is
the perfect setting to visit. It's a relatively flat island, coral
rather than volcanic in origin. The tourist services are very well
developed. Trinidad and Tobago:
Tobago and its twin island, Trinidad,
are the Caribbean's odd couple. 'Little sister' Tobago is relaxed,
slow-paced and largely undeveloped. Trinidad is a densely populated,
thriving island with a cosmopolitan population and strong regional
influence. Because of Trinidad's southerly location, temperatures
are equable year round, making it a perfect beach holiday at any
time. T & T is outside of the hurrican belt. |
