Cathedral of St Stephen - Zagreb- the original building was erected in 1094 but was party destroyed during an earthquake in 1880. Of interest are the religious works dating back to the 12th century that have been preserved here.

Euphrasian basilica - Porec- on the westcoast of Istria this world heritage site dates back to 6th century. A treasury of Byzantine gold mosiacs and a 4th century mosaic floor to be marvelled at.

CULTURE
A unique, proud Croatian culture is asserting itself after the struggle for independence. The coastline and islands have strong Italian/Mediterranean influences that permate their lifestyle and culture. Art, sculpture, music and dance are all celebrated and Renaissance influences still to be seen in many places.

GREAT OUTDOORS
Kornati National Park - off the Dalmatian coast: a perfect place to get lost with the partner of your dreams, this area consists of over 150 treed islands with underwater caves and tiny coves. So who needs "civilisation" ?
Plitvice Lakes National Park - between Zagreb and Zadar: Picture 16 turquoise lakes with cascading waterfalls surrounded by natural woods - imagine wood nymphs and sprites peeping out at you!
Krk - a short name but this largest Adriatic island is big on history. It can be reached via a long bridge from Kraljevica.Tramp down the path of Roman legionaries to the site of Curicum or visit the 11th century cathedral with its 18th century Tasca paintings.

BEACHES
Paradise Beach/Rajska plaza - on the island of Rab: The first resort catering for naturists (yep - nudists!). Frequented since 1934 by the like of the Duke of Windsor and Mrs Simpson. Naturism is accepted in Croatia (in certain permitted areas, we dont want to frighten the wildlife away...)
